Bicentennial Park, Homebush Bay

Setting the Scene

Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah (ASWJ) Association of Australia has worked tirelessly for over a decade to establish Eid prayers outdoors in accordance with the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). So successful this project has become that the last congregation exceeded a staggering 5000 people! Every year thousands of Eid-goes flock to Homebush’s Bicentennial Park to celebrate their Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adhaa. Come and join the growing number of attendees that return every year, and explore the list of activities that are available for you and your children. Homebush boasts a beautiful open-space prayer area with ample indoor parking - so there’s no need to worry about that ever elusive Eid parking spot! If that’s not enough, free shuttle buses escort those who are unable to walk to the prayer area! There are also free sweets and drinks, jumping castles, children’s playgrounds, public toilets, BBQ areas, free giveaways and much more. Make Eid extra special this year!

Parking

There is free parking at the P3 Sydney Olympic Park car park – This is a multistory undercover car park, which is only a few minutes walk from the prayer area (Village Green). You can have a pleasant stroll through the stunning park to get to the prayer area. However, for those who may not be able to walk ASWJ has organised free official park shuttle buses. These buses run continuously from P3 to the prayer area, starting from 6am until 10am all free of charge! Note: Early patrons are able to get a car park on the park grounds if early enough.

The Eid sermon (Al-Khutbah) commences after the Eid prayer. It will be first given in Arabic then English.

What to Bring

Floor mats are provided at the venue, however a prayer mat per person is highly recommended. There are many activities at Homebush that are sure to make the kids have a day to remember! Bicentennial Park boasts ample open areas for the family to enjoy, equipped with amenities all across the park, BBQ areas and playgrounds. On the day of Eid, the kids may also take advantage of the jumping castle provided. There will also be free sweets and drinks, with hot food, toys and other items sold on the day.

In Case of Heavy Rain

If there is extreme rain the venue will be moved to Bankstown Sunday Markets; Corner of Eldridge Rd and Ethel St, Condell Park.

Woodward Park, Liverpool

Setting the Scene

Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah (ASWJ) Association of Australia has worked tirelessly for over a decade to establish Eid prayers outdoors in accordance with the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). With the project so successful in Homebush, we expanded to another great location in Liverpool. Eid in Liverpool is perfect for those who want to avoid mammoth crowds and prefer a quieter, laid back approach to Eid. With its central location to many Muslims, celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adhaa in Liverpool’s Woodward Park has been growing rapidly in recent years. So why not save time this Eid by coming to Liverpool? With plenty of room, lots of parking, as well as fun and games for the kids – you cannot overlook Liverpool’s attractive features. Make Eid extra special this year!

There is free ample parking on the park grounds, catering for more than 5000 people.  – see maps There are also many opportunities to find a car spot around the surrounding streets, if the car park is full.

What to Bring

Floor mats are provided at the venue, however a prayer mat per person is highly recommended. There are many activities at Liverpool’s Woodward Park that are sure to make the kids have a day to remember! With a jumping castle provided, free lolly bags and fairy floss they are sure not to forget Eid this year!  Light breakfast is also provided free of charge. You may also want to take advantage of the many stalls available after the prayer comes to an end with DVDs, books and flowers on sale.

Mona Park, Auburn

Setting the Scene

The city of Auburn has comes to life each Eid at Mona Park! The Prophetic tradition of offering the Eid prayers outdoors has been established for many years in Auburn. With its central location to major suburbs such as Parramatta and Granville Eid at Mona Park –Auburn is  a must! With plenty of room, lots of parking, as well as food, fun and games for the kids – you cannot overlook Eid at Mona Park. Make Eid extra special this year!

Eid in the Park –Auburn at Mona Park is jam packed with fun activities for kids, which include twojumping castles, balloons, clowns, fairy floss, childrenbags and face painting. There will also be a host of drink and sweets served for free!

Debneys Park - Flemington

Setting the Scene

Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah (ASWJ) Association of Australia has worked tirelessly for over a decade to establish Eid prayers outdoors in accordance with the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Perth witnessed its first ever Eid prayer in the park on Eid-ul-Adhaa 15 years ago (1995) with only about 50-70 men and women attending. So successful this project has become that the last congregation exceeded a staggering 2500 people!  Every year thousands of Eid-goes flock to Kings Park to celebrate their Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adhaa. Come and join the growing number of attendees that return every year, and explore the list of activities following the prayer that are available for you and your children. Kings Park is a beautiful open-space prayer area with plenty of parking - so there’s no need to worry about that ever elusive Eid parking spot! Make Eid extra special this year!

There is plenty of parking along May Drive. There is a designated family drop off point found along Saw Ave (see map). The earlier patrons come the closer you will be able to park near the praying area. There will be plenty of volunteers helping directing patrons on the day. Parking is free.

Kings Park boasts an exquisite open area for the family to enjoy, equipped with amenities all across the park, BBQ areas and playgrounds. On the day of Eid, the kids may also take advantage of the extra recreations activities available such as Ferris wheels, Jumping castles and mini cars. There will also be drinks and food available, at a golden coin donation on the day.

Parramatta Park, Parramatta

Setting the Scene

Parramatta Islamic Cultural Association has worked tirelessly for over a decade to establish a mosque at the heart of Parramatta, the sixth largest city of Australia. Alhamdulillah, Parramatta Mosque has been established as fully functional mosque by purchasing the first floor of a multi-storey building on 4th March 2010  at Parramatta Central Business District. The Mosque address is 150, Marsden Street, Parramatta, NSW 2150. The building was erected over 900 square metres of land. The internal layout of the floor had been designed and approved to be used as fully functional Mosque and Islamic Centre accommodating about 800 people. All Muslim men and women who are working, living in the neighbourhood, shopping or simply visiting this great city are welcome to pray, recite and prostrate in this house of Allah. The Association has now decided to establish Eid prayers at outdoors in accordance with the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Parramatta Park is within walking distance from the Parramatta mosque. Please come and join the big number of attendees to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adhaa in the beautiful Parramatta park alongside the Parramatta river.

In case of Wet Weather, Eid ul Fitr Salaat will be held in AIS Arena (7). If the venue is changed due to rain, you will be notified via SMS in the morning of Eid day, inshaaAllaah. Please register for SMS notification by sending an email to: RegisterSMS@zikrun.badri.name with your mobile number in the subject. More details on how to register is in the flyer available outside.
