Eidinthepark.com.au is a project by the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah Association (ASWJ) of Australia. ASWJ is an independent, community based, organisation.

ASWJ was founded in Australia in 1982, with the aim of enriching, serving and further developing the communi–ties in which it participates via the guidance provided from Allah (SWT) through the Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah. ASWJ has gained a lot of trust and respect from the community due to its firm adherence to the principles of Islam and its detachment from external political interference. It is an independent body, free from any governmental financial and ideological influence. Eidinthepark.com.au was hypothesized to help inform the Muslim community in Sydney about the commence–ment of Eid using the latest technology – namely via instant sms and emails alerts. The purpose of the website is also to educate the community regarding the do’s and don’ts of one of the most important events of the Muslim calendar year, as many people are either unaware of the authentic Sunnah or turn a blind eye. Hence, by shedding light on the Sunan (prophetic traditions) of Eid and specifically praying in the park as our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) did we hope to honor this great symbol of Allah, indeed Allah SWT says;

….And whoever honors the symbols of Allah – indeed, it is from the piety of hearts (Al–Hajj 22:32).

>Lastly we ask Allah (SWT) to make this humble effort helpful to the Muslim community, to forgive our shortcomings, purify our work from hypocrisy and conceit and to accept this initiative.
